I am an experienced psychotherapist/counsellor, my approach is of an Integrative nature. I believe that what is most important is the relationship between the client and therapist, and that it is fundamental to establish a good working alliance. I see my role as facilitating the client’s journey by helping them achieve their goals using my knowledge of theory and experience.
I work in a pragmatic manner looking at facts, cause and effect. I have found this to be a very effective way of practicing, particularly as many clients want to understand why they are the way they are, or behave the way they do. This pragmatism is tempered with kindness and empathy; I never forget that the story being told to me is very personal and important to my client.
I work with issues that include, Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Eating Disorders, General Counselling, Mental Health Issues, Personal Development, Redundancy, Relationships, Self Esteem, Sexual Abuse related issues, Anger Management and General Life Skills.
